- A:To remove the accelerator cable, start by detaching it from the three cable clips. Then, loosen the accelerator cable adjusting nut and disengage the cable from the cable bracket. Next, disengage the accelerator cable from the throttle lever by opening the throttle linkage and using needle nose pliers to remove the plug from its groove in the throttle cam. Detach the accelerator cable from the firewall by removing the two cable flange bolts. Inside the vehicle, disengage the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal by removing the cable plug from its groove. Finally, pull the accelerator cable through the firewall from outside the vehicle. To install the cable, reverse the removal steps and ensure there are no kinks or sharp bends. After installation, adjust the free play of the cable by turning the adjusting nut counterclockwise until the throttle lever is free, removing any sharp bends, and then tightening the locknut securely.Posted by HyundaiPartsDeal Specialist
