Raise the vehicle and secure it on jackstands. Place a floor jack with a block of wood under the fuel tank. Remove the nuts from the tank retaining straps and lower the straps. Lower the tank to gain access to the top. Disconnect the remaining hoses from the tank. Carefully lower the tank to the ground. For installation, reverse the removal steps and ensure that the fuel tank strap bolts are tightened securely.
