Hyundai 70AZ6-03F00 Crankshaft Assembly

Check the oil seal journals at each end of the crankshaft for wear and damage. If the seal has worn a groove in the journal, or if it's nicked or scratched, the new seal may leak when the engine is reassembled. An automotive machine shop may be able to repair the journal by pressing on a thin sleeve. If repair isn't feasible, a new or different crankshaft should be installed.

Insert the rubber gasket into the grooves on the top side of the lower crankcase, apply a continuous bead of Three-bond #1217 liquid sealer to the sealing surface, and install the lower crankcase onto the cylinder block.

Use an appropriate feeler gauge to measure the clearance between the sensor wheel on the crankshaft and the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor, which is bolted to the block. If the clearance is excessive, the CKP sensor might be loose, so ensure that the CKP sensor bolt is tightened.
