Hyundai RC615-2EW00 Crankshaft Assembly

Inspect the crankshaft sensor wheel at the rear of the crankshaft for cracks, wear, and any other damage. If the sensor wheel is damaged, replace it, as damage to this component can result in severe driveability problems. To remove the sensor wheel from the crankshaft, remove the three retaining screws, and ensure to tighten the retaining screws when installing the sensor wheel.

Install the caps in their original locations with the arrows pointing toward the front of the engine. Tap the ends of the crankshaft forward and backward to line up the main bearing and crankshaft thrust surfaces.

Remove the ladder frame mounting bolts and then separate the ladder frame from the cylinder block. It may be necessary to drive a gasket scraper between the ladder frame and the cylinder block using a hammer, but caution is advised to avoid scratching or cutting the surface.
