To gain access to the clutch, remove the transaxle and support the engine, protecting the oil pan. The clutch fork and release bearing are allowed to stay linked to the housing. Use an alignment tool to hold the clutch disc during removal. Check the clutch disc, flywheel, pressure plate, and release bearing for wear and damage. Replace the release bearing with the clutch disc. Position the clutch disc and pressure plate against the flywheel using an alignment tool.

Lubricate the release shaft bore in the clutch housing with high temperature grease.
