    Apply penetrating oil to the nuts and springs retaining the catalytic converter to the manifold. After the nuts have soaked, remove the nuts retaining the converter to the manifold. Separate the converter from the manifold, being careful not to damage the oxygen sensors. Remove the complete front muffler assembly on 2006 and later models.
