Hyundai 98100-22000 Windshield Wiper Motor Assembly

To begin, disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. For 1986 through 1989 models, disconnect the washer hoses, remove the wiper arms and cowl trim retaining screws or clips, then detach the trim for access to the motor. Separate the link rod from the wiper motor crank arm, unscrew the crank arm nut, and remove the crank arm. Loosen the three wiper motor mounting bolts without removing them, then remove the upper motor mounting bracket screws and lower mounting bracket screws to take out the mounting bracket and motor as a single assembly, disconnecting the electrical connector. Next, remove the three motor mounting bolts and separate the motor from its mounting bracket, install the new motor on the mounting bracket, and tighten the bolts securely. Reinstall the motor and mounting bracket, tightening the upper and lower mounting bracket screws securely, then retighten the motor mounting bolts and crank arm nut, with installation being the reverse of removal. For 1990 through 2005 models, in the cowl area, separate the link rod from the wiper motor crank arm, unscrew the crank arm nut, and remove the crank arm from the wiper motor shaft. Remove the wiper motor mounting bolts, disconnect the electrical connector, and take the assembly out of the vehicle, with installation being the reverse of removal. For 2006 and later models, remove the trim caps for the windshield wiper arm retaining nuts, unscrew the wiper arm retaining nuts, and take off the wiper arms. Remove the cowl trim panel and disconnect the windshield washer fluid line. Disconnect the electrical connector from the windshield wiper motor, then remove the windshield wiper motor/linkage assembly retaining bolts. Move the assembly to the right to disengage the rubber mounting insulator, remove the crank arm retaining nut, and separate the crank arm from the wiper motor. Remove the wiper motor mounting bolts, with installation being the reverse of removal, ensuring to tighten the wiper motor mounting bolts and crank arm nut securely. For the rear window wiper motor, remove the spindle nut and wiper arm, noting the order of the wiper spindle washers for installation. Open the liftgate and remove the trim panel, disconnect the electrical connector, remove the three mounting screws, and lower the motor from the liftgate, with installation being the reverse of removal.
