The brake pedal's height is defined as the distance that the brake shoe is situated above the floor, from the contact face or the pedal pad to the ground through the carpet. If the pedal height is outside the above range it adjusted by backing the locknut of the pedal height adjusting bolt and advancing the bolt to increase the height of the pedal or retreating it to decrease the height of the pedal. Subsequently to altering the height the freeplay should also be altered. Freeplay relates to the amount of pedal movement beyond which the brake pedal starts applying the brakes and if it is out of range, it needs rectification. For modification of the freeplay, turn the locknut of the brake pushrod anti-clockwise and align the brake pushrod into the desired range of measurement, then tighten the locknut securely.
