The position of the brake pedal is measured by how close it is placed to the floor and if that is not standard then some changing has to be done. To fine tune, loosen the locknut and move the pushrod back for more clearance before moving the pushrod upwards to set the pedal height in the middle of the desired range and tightening the locknut. There is no locknut on the brake but a screw that should be loosened so that the switch is pulled with the car pedal placed in the fully returned position; when measuring the height, the carpet is supposed to be pulled back. Loosen the brake pedal switch and turning it clockwise to make it slightly touch the "pedal arm" then turn it anti-clockwise until the required clearance is obtained and tighten the switch locknut. Freeplay is defined as the pedal slack, that is, the degree of pedal depression which does not produce any actions within the brake system and if freeplay is either too great or too small the amount must be adjusted. To compensate, loosen the brake pedal switch and align it to the free play range as recommended then tighten the lock nut. Before making the adjustments, apply the brake pedal several times with the engine off, check the free-play, if required, turn the locknut of the pushrod anti-clockwise to set the free-play to the advised range and then tighten the locknut.
