How to remove, inspect, and install a shock absorber on 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe?

To take out the strut, one has to first unscrew the wheel lug nuts, lift the vehicle, and set it on jackstands, then unbolt the wheel, and support the control arm with a floor jack. Remove the nut on the end of the stabilizer bar link and then separate the link from the strut, you'll need to move some wires to get to the nut Pull of the brake hose bracket and the wiring harness for the wheel speed sensor from the strut. Place the camber angle index on the knuckle in the same location as the strut so the camber measurements are not lost, then unbolt the strut-knuckle joint's nuts and knock out the bolts with a hammer and punch. Disconnect the strut from the steering knuckle with care, keep the inner CV joint from over stretching or the steering knuckle drops outward that could damage the brake hose. If the strut has to be dismantled, slacken the nut on the top of the damper shaft without removing it. Remove the top of the strut and spring assembly and support it thereafter while in the engine compartment, remove the three strut-to-shock tower nuts, take the assembly out from the fenderwell.
