Park the vehicle with the front wheels in the straight-ahead position and disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. For 2005 and earlier models, remove the steering wheel, then take off the lower dash panel and steering column cover. On 1994 and earlier models, remove the switch retaining screws, trace the wiring harness down the steering column to the connector, cut the wiring tiestrap if equipped, disconnect the connector, and slide the switch up off the column. For 1995 through 2005 models, disconnect the electrical connector, remove the three multi-function switch mounting screws, and slide the switch assembly off the steering column. Installation is the reverse of removal. For 2006 and later models, it is not necessary to remove the steering wheel, as the turn signal switch or the windshield wiper/washer switch can be removed separately. Remove the steering column covers, then use a screwdriver to disengage the switch locking tab and pull out the switch. When installing the switch, ensure that the locking lug snaps into place. Installation is the reverse of removal.
