How to remove and replace an alternator on Hyundai Elantra?

Be cautious, Anti-theft radios are found in some models. Have your access code at hand before you undertake any battery disconnection procedure. So start by taking off the cable from the negative terminal of the battery to remove the alternator. Also, raise your vehicle and support it safely with jack stands. Then, disconnect the wire harness from the alternator electrical connections. This includes unplugging a large electrical connector from it, removing a rubber plug from B+ terminal and then unclamping this wire from B+ terminal. Loosen up both Lower mounting bolt as well as upper adjustment lockbolt towards alternator side. Back off adjustment bolt swivel alternator towards engine and release drive belt from pulley of alternator. Finally unscrew and remove upper and lower mounting bolts & washers, then take out assembled alternator from its mounting bracket.
