How to remove and install the air filter box on Hyundai Excel?

For carbureted models,disconnect the battery's negative terminal. Remove the air cleaner cover, filter element, and cold air snorkel. Detach breather hoses and remove flange nuts from the air filter box. For 1986 or 1987 models, detach the canister behind the air filter box. Disconnect the electrical connector under the canister clamp. Detach the air filter box from the heat riser tube and vacuum hose. Remove the air filter box. For fuel-injected models: Disconnect the battery's negative terminal. Unclamp the air intake tube and remove the air cleaner cover and filter. For 1994 and earlier models, remove the resonator bolts and the resonator. Remove the bolts attaching the air filter box housing to the fender panel. Remove the air filter box and housing.

Hyundai Excel Air Filter Box prevents harmful dust and debris from entering the engine by securing the paper element and directing the incoming air through the element before combustion.
