Before uninstalling the pump, you have to remove the
Oil Pan and din off and then unfasten the pump pick-up strainer then you eliminate the gasket. Subsequently, you should remove the oil filter. Continue with the continental to the removal of the
Timing Belt, timing belt tensioner pulley, crankshaft sprocket, and timing belt guide flanges. Relax and unscrew the oil pump retaining bolts, and ensure you note where you get them from because they are of different sizes. Remove the oil pump assembly upwards along the threads of the crankshaft, and do away with the gasket. For inspection remove the retaining screws of the oil pump cover and lift it or turn it around to display the rotor position; in most cases these marks may not be present; it is then advisable to place your marks on the rotor position. To do this, take out the inner and outer rotors, alter the oil pressure relief valve plug, and discover out the spring and plunger installation. Scrub all of the parts and check for signs of wear or scoring; if there is more than a normal amount of scoring, replace the pump. If repairable, then take some important measurements on clearances and rotor end play; look for any that have gone beyond particular limits that would require a new pump. If satisfactory, reduce the rotation of the inner rotor, then start reassembling the parts in the reverse manner of disassembly, performing the oil pump priming through clean engine oil. In the case of installation, ensure that you examine the crankshaft oil seal with respect to its depth, remove the former seal and put in a new one with the lip turned inward. Check the dowels are present in locating areas, clean the registering faces and fit a new gasket to the cylinder block. Align the oil pump housing with the rotor and the crankshaft, thereafter fasten the pump housingbolts to the recommended torque. Secure the new gasket on the oil pick up strainer and torque the bolts then replace the oil pan using the new gasket. Moreover, put the crankshaft sprocket, the timing belt tensioner pulley, timing belt guide flange, and the oil filter with the engine and refill it with fresh engine oil.
