In the older models, the process should start with the removal of the steering wheel; the retaining screws that should be removed are located at the lower side of the steering column. Gently open the cover halves wide apart, disconnect electrical connectors if any and pull out two halves of the cover off the SC. For installation, follow the order of it in the opposite way it was removed. Specifically, depending on the model, the first thing is to unscrew the retaining screw under the lower steering column cover in newer models. To gain the access to the other two screws you have to rotate the steering wheel to the left to get to access the left screw and to right for the right screw. To replace the steering column cover assembly, firstly, the upper and lower steering column covers must be pulled off and after that, installation procedures are vice versa.
