Take off the wheel cover and loosen the drive axle hub nut. Loosen lug nuts on front wheels, raise vehicle and safely support it with jack stands. Remove front wheels. Remove brake caliper and support it with wire. On 2000 and later models, remove caliper mounting bracket and brake disc. Loosen but do not take out strut-to-steering knuckle bolts/nuts. Separate tie-rod end from steering knuckle arm. Disconnect balljoint from steering knuckle. Now, remove the strut-to-knuckle bolts. Remove steering knuckle assembly from strut, balljoint, and drive axle. Push out of hub if drive axle sticks in the hub splines; support end of drive axle with wire; Installation: Insert driveaxle into hub while guiding the knuckle and hub assembly into position; Push knuckle into strut flange and install bolts, but don't tighten them yet; Put balljoint stud into steering knuckle hole and install nut, but don't tighten it yet; Attach tie-rod to steering knuckle arm; Torque down strut bolt nuts, balljoint nut, tie-rod nut ; Install caliper; Install hub nut tightly; Install wheel and lug nuts ; Lower vehicle and torque lug nuts down firmly ; Torque up the hubnut Have front wheel alignment checked for adjustment if required.
