Wear gloves when working inside the door openings to protect against cuts from sharp metal edges. To address the door latch, first raise the window, then remove the door trim panel and watershield. Working through the large access hole, disengage the rods from the handle and lock cylinder, noting that all door lock rods are attached by plastic clips that can be removed by unsnapping the portion engaging the connecting rod and pulling the rod out of its locating hole. Disconnect the electrical connectors at the latch and disengage the handle-to-latch cables. Remove the screws securing the latch to the door and take out the latch assembly through the door opening, with installation being the reverse of removal. For the outside handle and door lock cylinder, raise the window and remove the door trim panel and watershield, taking care not to scratch the paint on the outside of the door; applying wide masking tape around the handle opening can help avoid scratches. Working through the access hole, disengage the plastic clips that secure the outside door lock-to-latch rod and the outside door handle-to-latch rod. Remove the handle and lock cylinder retaining screws from the inside of the door and take out the handle and lock cylinder, with installation being the reverse of removal. To remove the inside door handle, first remove the door trim panel, then take out the handle retaining screws and nut, disengaging the handle from the door. Disengage the handle-to-latch cables and remove the handle from the door, with installation being the reverse of removal.
