How to remove the Center Console Base on Hyundai Sonata?

To most 2005 and earlier models, you can use a screwdriver that is taped or a trim stick in lifting the top cover from the back of the console while from the front part of the shifter, there are two screws that need to be removed and the front top cover is also removed. On the next level, unscrew four transversals and four bolts at the front upper part of the console and two screws in front and rear on the sides of the console and it will be possible to lift it. It is a process opposite to removal installation involves the proper placing of parts into their required positions. For models from 2006 through 2010 the initial step will be in the removal of the shifter bezel which is a sensitive piece of soft plastic that will require something like a trim stick with a taped Allen wrench projecting from it or a simple flat head screwdriver. Raise the upper housing away from the engine and pry the carpet back to get access to and unscrew the two screws on the storage box. Turn the screws on the front of side covers to release them, slide the seats ahead and then, turn the screws that are on the rear part of the side covers. After that, the remaining screws are removed from the end of the front upper console section and the part is disconnected followed by the removal of the screws on the top of the console and carefully pulling it with hands. If removal is the process of taking out the given component from the system, then installation is the process of putting it into the system. For 2011 and later models remove these console-to-instrument panel side trim panels with the help of a plastic trim panel removal tool and next, turn the shift knob retaining screw and take out the shifter boot. Remove the upper-center part of the console together with the electrical connectors if there are and delete the lower side board extensions. Pop off the console tray mat to gain access to the fasteners beneath this, and undo the console mounting screws, which would typically be located along the edge of the console. Last, raise the console assembly and pull it out of the car while the procedure for installing it will be vice versa.
