The protection of the electrical circuits of the vehicle is carried out through fuses, circuit breakers, and fusible links; its fuse block is located at the left end of the instrument panel and in the engine compartment. For the vehicles produced after 2011, the place of the internal fuse box is under the upper right corner of the instrument panel. Protection of each circuit is done by the use of individual fuses, and this is illustrated on the fuse part panel cover. Miniature fuses are used in the fuse blocks and if an electrical device is dead, the first thing is to check the fuse; using a test bulb to check for live at the tips of each fuse is efficient. In the situation when power is applied to one side of the circuit while there is a lack of it on the other side the fuse is blown; the status of the fuse can also be easily 'observed', since the material between the terminals turns into a mush when the fuse is blown. This means that it is appropriate to replace a blown one by the appropriate fuse because it is realized that fuses of different ratings can be interchangeable physically though they have correct current ratings molded on the body of the fuse to provide adequate protection to each electrical circuit. If a replacement fuse goes bad the same day, it should not be replaced again until the possible short circuiting, usually a result of a bad wire connection or wire degradation is soldered out. Some circuits contain the fusible links that take over when a circuit is not fused, for instance, the high-current side of the charging or starting circuits. Previous inline fusible links which have a kind of bulge in the midst of cable have already been removed and replaced by recently developed cartridge-type fusible links which bear a great resemblance to large cartridge fuses and are located in their own fusible link blocks found within the fuse and relay box of the engine compartment. After disconnecting the cable from negative terminal of battery, fusible link can be pulled of and replaced by another one of the similar amperage.
