Raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, blocking the front wheels to prevent rolling, and place the transmission in Neutral with the parking brake off before removing the spare wheel. Disconnect the exhaust pipe hangers and lower the pipe to provide clearance around the right driveaxle, then drain the differential lubricant. Mark the relationship of the driveshaft to the pinion flange, unbolt the driveshaft from the flange, and suspend it with a piece of wire, ensuring it does not hang by the center support bearing. Support the differential with a floor jack, remove the mounting bracket and differential mounting bolts, and slowly lower the jack. Pry the drive axles out of the differential and tie them up with pieces of wire, avoiding letting them hang to prevent damage to the joints. Installation follows the reverse of the removal procedure, tightening all fasteners to the specified torque values and filling the differential with the proper lubricant.
