Hyundai 97701-29000 Compressor Assembly

Start by having the system discharged and recovered by a dealer service department or automotive air conditioning shop. Then, disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Set the parking brake, block the rear tires, and raise the front of the vehicle securely on jackstands. From underneath the vehicle, loosen the locknut on the tensioner and turn it counterclockwise to release the belt tension. Remove the compressor drivebelt if necessary. Disconnect the electrical connector from the compressor clutch and remove the bolt connecting the suction and discharge lines. Cap the open fittings immediately to prevent dirt and moisture entry. Remove the compressor mounting bolts and take out the compressor from the engine compartment. Remember to note the location and thickness of any shims or spacers and reinstall them accordingly. Keep the compressor level during handling and storage.
