Hyundai 51750-F2000 Front Wheel Hub Assembly

The hub and bearing assembly is a sealed unit and is not serviceable; if found defective, it must be replaced with a new one. For 2006 and earlier models, begin by loosening the rear wheel lug nuts, raising the rear of the vehicle, and securely supporting it on jackstands before removing the wheel. For disc brake-equipped models, remove the caliper and brake disk. Next, remove the center cap and unstake the hub nut, then use a breaker bar and socket to loosen and unscrew the hub nut. Remove the brake drum/hub and bearing assembly from the knuckle. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring the hub nut is tightened and staked into the groove in the spindle. If equipped with disc brakes, tighten the caliper mounting bracket bolts and the caliper mounting bolt before installing the wheel and lug nuts, lowering the vehicle, and tightening the lug nuts. For 2007 and later models, loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands before removing the wheel. Unbolt the hub and bearing assembly from the rear knuckle, and then follow the reverse order for installation, tightening all fasteners.

Due to the special tools and expertise required to press the hub and bearing from the steering knuckle, this job should be left to a professional mechanic. However, the steering knuckle and hub may be removed and the assembly taken to a dealer service department or other qualified repair shop. On 2017 later models, the hub assembly is bolted to the back of the steering knuckle. Remove the driveaxle, then remove the hub and bearing assembly mounting bolts and detach the hub from the knuckle.
