For 1996 and 1997 models, there is one catalytic converter located underneath the vehicle, right behind the upstream heated oxygen sensor (HO2S). For 1998 and later models, there are two converters: the first is either bolted to the exhaust manifold (1998-2000 models) or is an integral part of the exhaust manifold (2001 and later models), and the second converter is located underneath the vehicle, right behind the upstream HO2S.

On 2001 and later models, you should unplug the electrical connector for the upstream and downstream Heated Oxygen Sensors (HO2S).
