How to replace a water pump in a Hyundai Accent?

Disconnect the battery's negative terminal and drain the cooling system. Detach the radiator hose from the water pump and remove the left engine mount for 1994 and earlier models. Loosen the water pump pulley bolts, remove the drivebelts and pulley bolts. For 2011 and earlier models, remove the timing belt, tensioner, and alternator bracket. Detach the water pump from the engine, noting bolt locations. Clean bolt threads and engine holes. Compare the new pump to the old one, remove old gasket material, and clean mating surfaces. The Hyundai Accent Water Pump promotes the cooling of the engine by pushing coolant through the block, head, and radiator.
