Tighten the wheel lug nuts, lift the vehicle and then place it on a sufficiently secure jack before detaching the wheel. Then, the tie-rod end and the jam nut must be taken off following these steps so as to continue with the overhaul process. Subsequently, disconnect the outer clamp of the rack and pinion boot by pinching the ends with two pliers and trim off the inner boot clamp with help of the diagonal cutters to pull off the boot. Before fitting the new one, wrap the threads on the end of the steering rod with a tape to keep the small end of the new boot from being stripped. Insert the new boot into place over the rack and pinion in the manner that it fits into the groove on the steering rod and then place new clamps. After rip the tape out, put the tie-rod end, then the wheel was installed, and then the lug nuts. At last land the car and firmly secure the lug nuts.
