For the installation of the latch, first draw a line around it and then remove the bolts holding the hood latch situated at the back of the car's radiator support and then remove the latch. Pull the carpet out by releasing the hood cable by pulling down the harness of the cable ensuring that it unlocks and pull the cable end found at the bottom of the hood. For installation, do the reverse of the process of removal while making sure that the latch sits in a way that the hood will click into place when closed and the bumpers should be slightly squeezed. Inside the car, the location of this 'lever' is behind the steering wheel, close to the floor. Finally, pull down the cable housing end upward to disconnect it from this lever and fix a piece of thin wire or string to this end of the cable. Pull the hood cable away from the latch, begin by removing the left inner plastic part of the car's bumper, which will expose all cable retaining clips which are found on the car's radiator support alongside the outer fenderwell and after you have removed the left plastic liner, you will be able to access the hood cable. Pull the cable forward into the wheel well until the wire or string is visible, extract it from the old cable and secure it at the new one. Once the new cable is connected, slowly retract the wire or string back through the body making sure that the new cable is enclosed in the handle found inside. Insert the new cable in the hood release lever so that the cable housing fits into the groove of the handle bracket; while pulling the other end from the interior of the car to seat the cable stop into the grommet on the body. Perform several steps that are the reversal of the previous removal procedures.
