In its normal condition, a clicking sound is heard when a turn signal and hazard flasher is operating. If on one side of the automobile only the turn signals do not flash, or if the flasher unit and does not make the usual clicking noise, or if a bulb on one side is much quicker in flashing while the bulb of the same side does not light at all, then it would be indicative of a faulty turn signal bulb. If both of the turn signals do not blink, chances are that you have a blown
Fuse as well as a faulty flasher unit, the switch is likely to be bad, or perhaps there is either a loose or an open connection. A simple visit to the fuse board can help identify a 'blown turn signal fuse' sometimes it is recommended that one checks the wiring for shorts before replacing the fuse. The turn signal and hazard flasher is usually located at the back of the knee bolster on most models, near the instrument panel junction block. To reach this, pull the handle of the fuse and relay center access door located below the knee bolster at the driver's side, or simply release the knee bolster. Near to the Instrument panel fuse/relay block, you need to search for the turn signal and hazard flasher, you have to unplug the electrical connector of the flasher unit and then take the flasher unit out of the junction block. Replace the unit with a similar one, though it is recommended that you compare the new unit by holding it with the old one before installation, which is the reverse of the pulling process.
