How to remove and install the hood cable and hood latch on Hyundai Sonata?

For 2010 and earlier models, begin by removing the radiator guard by taking out the fasteners. For 2011 and later models, the bumper cover must be taken off to access the hood latch and cable assembly. Scribe a line around the latch for alignment during installation, then remove the retaining bolts that secure the hood latch to the radiator support and take out the latch. Disconnect the Hood Cable by disengaging it from the latch. Installation follows the reverse order of removal, ensuring the latch is adjusted so the hood engages securely when closed and the hood bumpers are slightly compressed. In the passenger compartment, lift the hood release handle lever upward, then pull down on the cable housing end to disengage the cable from the hood release lever handle. Attach a piece of thin wire or string to the end of the cable, then disconnect the Hood Cable from the latch.
