Take out the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Disconnect or loosen all wiring from the upper and lower steering column covers. Loosen and take off the driver's side knee bolster panel and the additional reinforcement plate located behind it. The manufacturer suggests the complete removal of the steering column; however, it is anyhow possible to reach the screws of the ignition switch by lowering the column. Unplug the connection, unscrew the nuts, and pull out the ignition switch at the back of the assembly or gadget.
