Turn the lug nuts and then the wheel slightly counterclockwise, get a jack, lift the car and place it on jacks securely before removing the wheel. Next, loosen and then take out the
Tie Rod End and the jam nut which is opposite to the side which was fastened on first. Then remove the rack and pinion boot clamps and slide off the boot, the outer clamp you can remove using pliers and the inner clamp cutting or using a flathead screwdriver pry it off. Before inserting the new boot, cover the threads or serration part of the steering rod's end part with tape so that the small end of the new boot is safe from being scratched or damaged. Place the new boot over the new shaft, then move it upward until the boot fits into the groove on the steering rod and then fit new clamps. After pulling the tape off, secure the tie-rod end. At last, you need to fit the wheel and tighten the lug nuts to the right torque. Also, remember to drop the vehicle; thereafter, you should also have your alignment checked by a dealer service department or any technician from the alignment shop.
