- A:It is recommended to replace the booster with a new or rebuilt one rather than disassembling it. To remove the booster, first remove the brake master cylinder and pull the proportioning valve and bracket forward. On newer models with ABS, disconnect brake lines and retaining brackets to the ABS HECU unit if necessary. Locate the pushrod clevis connecting the booster to the brake pedal and remove the cotter pin and clevis pin, then unscrew the booster mounting nuts. Disconnect the hose leading from the engine to the booster, being careful not to damage it. Remove the four nuts and washers holding the brake booster to the firewall, and slide the booster straight out until the studs clear the holes.Posted by HyundaiPartsDeal Specialist
