Hyundai Excel Crankshaft Seal

The Hyundai Excel Crankshaft Seal is a snug seal at the front of the engine that keeps oil within the crankcase and off your driveway. It prevents moving parts from drying out and rubbing together. The Crankshaft Seal is made up of a metal ring that is joined to a flexible rubber lip. This seals the crankshaft that spins at speed. It rides on a thin film of oil that reduces heat and wear at any rpm. Over the years, Hyundai ensured the Excel drivetrain layout stayed the same, so all versions still use this proven radial lip style Crankshaft Seal, although later seals use tougher rubber blends to last longer and fit/function unchanged. Despite being a small part of your Hyundai, Crankshaft Seal's are often overlooked. However, make sure that this small seal is well seated to ensure that the entire cam belt area of your Excel remains clean. When you start to notice oil weeping behind the timing cover, a lower dip-stick reading, or a faint burning smell, it means the Crankshaft Seal, which does all the hard work, is failing. As soon as possible, replacement keeps continuous lubrication, prevents messy leaks, and aids every Hyundai engine in an Excel to stay smooth and reliable.

If you are looking for affordable high-quality OEM Hyundai Excel Crankshaft Seal, then you have come to the prime place. Our website provides a large amount of genuine Hyundai Excel Crankshaft Seal at unbeatable prices. All our parts come backed with the manufacturer's warranty.

Hyundai Excel Crankshaft Seal Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Crankshaft Seal on 2011 and earlier Hyundai Excel?
    A:
remove the Timing Belt, crankshaft sprocket, timing belt, guide flange to be able to replace the front oil seal. From below the left inner fender, check from where you installed the crankshaft oil seal is correct and using seal removing tool or flat head screwdriver you carefully remove the crankshaft oil seal, being very careful not to dent the oil pump housing or damaging the crankshaft. As for seal seat, clean it together with the seal in the oil pump housing and abrade the rough edges as they led to the first seal damages; if a groove appears on the crankshaft sealing surface, it will be impossible to stop the leak even with a new seal. Coat the lips of the new seal lightly with fresh engine oil to prevent sticking, centre the seal over the end of the crankshaft and gently hit it home to the specified depth with a hammer and socket so that the seal lips face each other compressing them. Last of all replace the timing belt guide flange, crankshaft sprocket, and the timing belt. Thus, the best practice for the rear oil seal is to remove the Oil Pan and the rear oil seal retainer; however, the technician can employ a less invasive approach as long as it does not harm the crankshaft sealing surface. First, it would help to raise the Flywheel/driveplate and then gently push the old oil seal out of the housing with a seal puller or even a thin flat-head screwdriver while equally being careful not to harm the crankshaft. Clean the seal housing and slap off any burr or edge, clean the oil seal seat and dip the new seal in the engine oil, later fit over the crankshaft with the sealing lip downwards. preferably, a new seal should be slipped onto the shaft and a proper seal installation tool should be used to fit the new seal in the housing; or a tube preferably metal or a socket may be used as a drift; if none of the two is available, the seal may be hammered gently into place this must be done in such a manner that the blunt tool hits it squarely into the housing with firm surface contact on the housing. Finally, reinstall the flywheel/driveplate.
