To replace the windshield wipers, one has to first take off the wiper arm alongside the windshield wiper cowl cover. Unplug the electrical connector from the wiper motor, then pull the wiper linkage down to remove the bolts and to free the linkage arm from the wiper motor arm. First, unscrew the bolts and pull out the wiper motor, next unscrew the wiper motor mounting bolts to delink it from the linkage. On the 2017 and later models and 2013 through 2017 GT models, remove the wiper motor assembly fast-back bolts, pinch the wiper assembly toward the cowl to remove it from the wiper park position, and disconnect the electrical connector from the wiper motor. Locking pliers have to be used to grip the wiper crank arm once the upper linkage arm has to be detached from the wiper motor crank arm, identifying the arm to wiper motor position with a permanent marker, so that the wiper could be fitted back. Again with the crank arm still fixed, take the crank arm to wiper motor nut, and then the crank arm, afterwards removing the wiper motor retaining bolts which breaks the motor from the linkage assembly. For the Liftgate wiper, the wiper arm, and the liftgate trim cover should first be detached to get toward the rear wiper motor. Remove bolts securing the wiper motor, and then follow the wiper motor connector and lower the wiper from the liftgate while removing the said motor. In the removal strategy all components are removed in reverse order and reinstallations are also done the same way.
