To access or replace the Neutral Safety Switch or Transaxle Range switch, first unscrew the battery, along with the battery tray, and for extra space, one has to leave the air filter housing also. After that, it is required to set the shift lever to NEUTRAL, then disconnect the shift control cable from the Neutral Safety Switch or TR switch manual control lever, and also, remove the electrical connector from the switch. UNS the nut for fixing the manual control lever to the transaxle selector shaft and the mounting bolts for the switch. During assembly, place the new switch and only partially insert the mounting bolts, set the position of the manual control lever and screw the nut until it is tight, and connect the wire harness connector. For adjustment, turn the nut of the switch in such a manner that the shorter of the two shift levers is placed as near as possible to the flange of the switch body and the bolt is to be tightened to the maximum extent. Last of all, verify that the transaxle works in each selector lever position, where the engine only starts in Park and Neutral, and adjust the switch if the engine starts in any other gear.
