To take off the TR sensor you have to first unplug the cable from the negative terminal and then clear the fresh air intake duct from the air filter housing. Third, you will have to eliminate the electrical connector of the TR sensor, although it might be somewhat easier if you take off the fresh air intake duct first. Next, take out the nut that connects the shift control cable to the control shaft lever and separate the cable from it. Next, unbolt the nut And washer that attaches the control shaft lever to the manual valve shaft and then, to that, take out the control shaft lever. Last of all, unscrew the mounting bolts to whip out the TR sensor from the system. For installation of the TR sensor, slide the sensor over the shaft of the manual valve then tighten the mounting bolts lightly. Join the lever to the manual valve shaft, fasten with the nut and rotate until it will not rotate any more, at this time it is in Park, rotate again until it get to neutral. Pass the cable to the manual valve shaft and screw on the nut although the nut should not be tightened yet. Ensure that the existing holes made on the manual lever and the sensor align properly by using a drill bit, and thereafter, tighten the several screws of the sensor as much as possible without applying any force which might shift the position of the sensor from the perfectly fixed place. Reverse the removal steps, engage the cable nut and ensure that the transmission as well as the indicator performs the following functions-the engine should not start unless in Park or Neutral and the back-up lights should come on when in the Reverse position.
