For 2.4L four-cylinder models, the sensor is located on the driver's end of the cylinder head for 2007 and earlier engines, while 2010 and later models have two sensors on each side of the valve cover towards the driver's end. Begin by disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal, then remove the air intake duct if necessary for better access. Disconnect the electrical connector from the CMP sensor(s) and make an alignment mark with a dab of paint for reinstallation. Remove the CMP sensor(s) mounting bolt(s) and the sensor(s), checking the O-ring condition if reinstalling the same sensor, replacing it if damaged. Installation follows the reverse order. For 2.7L and 3.3L V6 models, the camshaft position sensor is mounted on the driver's end of the cylinder head. Start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal, then remove the engine cover if needed for access. Disconnect the sensor electrical connector, remove the bolt securing the sensor to the cylinder head, and pull the sensor out. Installation is the reverse of removal. For 3.5L V6 models, the sensor is mounted under the timing belt cover near the exhaust camshaft sprocket for 2007 and earlier models, while 2010 and later engines have four sensors, two on each valve cover. Disconnect the negative battery terminal, remove the timing belt cover for 2007 and earlier models to access the sensor, or remove the engine cover for 2010 and later models. Disconnect the sensor electrical connector, remove the sensor mounting bolt(s), and installation is the reverse of removal.
